Bansko -

The ski area around Bansko is one of the biggest in Bulgaria with 70km of piste. Bansko has 23 lifts, reaching a top altitude of 2600m and although the terrain here is a mix of green, blue, red and black grading, this resort is best suited for beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders. Advanced skiers may be slightly disappointed by the lack of mileage and real challenges here, though there is some off-piste to be found and snowboarders will enjoy the funpark. The vertical descent is 1630m, with the majority of pistes lying within the trees. The snow conditions here are usually good, thanks to the northern orientation of the mountains, but snow canons are present on all marked pistes to ensure snow cover.
