Borovets is the oldest winter ski resort in Bulgaria, enriched in culture and situated in the eastern part of Rila. Borovets usually sees snow from December through until April each year, and is situated at around 1300m high.

Borovets’ skiing area

Borovets’ skiing area consists of 58km of slopes. The resort is largely suitable for intermediate skiers, and includes good tests for beginner skiers. Borovets also has 14 snow cannons in case natural snowfall is low, and its gondola rises over 1000m to reach small, high and easy slopes.

Borovets is situated only 72 km away from Sofia and just 126 km away from Plovdiv, thus is easily accessed from all areas of Bulgaria.

Borovets’ resort is situated in a beautiful setting, with bars, restaurants and quaint shops. After the day of skiing there are plenty of activities by night to keep oneself occupied, with cosy taverns and numerous events creating a warm atmosphere.
