Pamporovo is located inside of the Rhodopi mountain in Bulgaria at an altitude of 1650m, approximately 220km away from Sofia City and 85km away from Plovdiv. Pamporovo is known to have more sunny days per year than the other Bulgarian resorts, with an average of 100, and thus being known as a mild winter resort. Also, the tourist season lasts until April, starting in December.

Pamporovo’s skiing area

Pamporovo’s skiing area consists of 37km of slopes. The resort is largely suitable for beginner skiers, but the difficulty of the ski tracks vary greatly, including testing black runs for experts. Also, around 90% of the runways have been equipped with artificial icing to ensure constant snow cover throughout the season, whilst the 6 ski lifts and half-pipe make it ideal for snowboarders also.

What is there to do in Pamporovo?

In Pamporovo, there are various bars, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Entertainment includes a bowling bar, a billiards bar and multiple après-ski bars and nightclubs. As well as this, there are excursion activities which offer oneself a chance to immerse oneself in the local culture, such as visits to The Waterfall Canyon and The Rojen Observatory amongst many others.
