Chamonix
There is some of the world's best skiing in Chamonix and it is well renowned as one of the key ski resorts in France. There is fantastic off-piste skiing and its not a place for the faint hearted! It is useful if you have a car to make the most of the region and mountains. Dominated by the mighty Mont Blanc, the scenery is impressive and the skiing and snowboarding is extreme!
Chamonix -
The Aiguilles du Midi dominates the town, and the only skiing up here is one of the best known itinerary runs, the Vallee Blanche. Even intermediates should be able to tackle the run, although everyone should take a guide. The linked Brevant and Flegere areas can be accessed directly and both have a good mixture of pistes, with plenty of more challenging off-piste. Ski Lift Passes in Chamonix can either be bought for solely the Chamonix sectors or for the larger Mont Blanc area. A Mont Blanc Unlimited Ski Lift Pass would be recommended for intermediate or advanced skiers and snowboarders who are looking to explore more of the the Mont Blanc & Chamonix Valley ski areas.

The night life in Chamonix can be as gruelling as the legendary steeps, so be prepared for both a hard days skiing or snowboarding and a heavy night in one of Chamonix's extensive choice of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. There are 2 cinemas which occassionally show English films plus a swimming pool and museums.
