La Tania
From La Tania ski the whole Three Valleys comparitively affordably. Built in 1992 for the Olympic athletes, it has grown into a delightful ski resort with none of the pretentiousness of Courchevel or the boisterousness of Meribel. La Tania is a great ski holiday destination as the resort is compact and most of the chalets nestle in the trees between the two main runs home. Despite only being at 1350m the trees provide excellent protection for the north facing Folyeres blue run meaning it should always be possible to ski home.

La Tania ski domain is the same as that for Courchevel. With a Three Valley pass you can head the otherside towards Meribel - its only two lifts away - for some excellent skiing and snowboard pistes! The La Tania sector itself has some long red and blue pistes, testing moghuls and relatively untracked off-piste. Take a look at the piste map. Beginner skiers and snowboarders should head towards Courchevel 1850 where there are plenty of gentle wide pistes, whilst intermediates will enjoy the blues and reds of Courchevel 1650. The challenging pistes are up the top of Saulire! The location of La Tania in the 3 Valleys ski area means you can ski across to all of the other resorts in this vicinity, providing you purchase a 3 Valleys Ski Lift Pass. We would recommend purchasing this pass as opposed to upgrading to the Three Valley ski lift pass on a daily basis as you will save money. In La Tania, most of the apres ski activities are centred around the 'Ski Lodge', which caters for everything from football to good pub food to live music depending on the time of day. There are only a few restaurants but the food is good in those there are. Both Courchevel and Meribel are within easy reach if you are after a big night out!

If you fancy a break from the ski there are plenty of other activities on offer such as paragliding, snow-mobiles, snow-shoe walks, dog sledding, climbing and ice skating so you can plan your activities around the weather and snow conditions. Leisure facilities include a fitness centre with sauna and solarium, bowling and a cinema but non skiers will possibly find the resort limiting.

Ski School is available fo children from 5 years and up but make sure you book in advance for high season.
The Garderie (04 79 08 80 76) runs both the nursery and Jardin des Neiges for children from 3 - 5 years
