Serre Chevalier

Ski Holidays in Serre Chevalier can be very varied - the ski resort is made up of 13 villages each with its own character! There are four areas to Serre Chevalier:

Monetier - 1500m Villeneuve - 1400m Chantlemerle - 1350m Briancon - 1200m

The scenery is outstanding and there are great childcare facilities. The chairlifts aren't new but there are worse ways to spend a morning than enjoying the sunshine on a slow chair lift before cruising down a long piste to a real French hostelry for lunch.

Serre Chevalier -

The Serre Chevalier ski area is characterised by some fabulous reds through larch forests, which help to keep the snow in pristine condition late into April. There are plenty of long easy slopes for beginners while experts delight in the untracked powder higher up. The Serre Chevalier ski resort is a challenging and fun place for both skiers and snowboarders. Take a look at the webcam for current snow conditions or see the lie of the land with our piste map.

Serre Chevalier -

For ski holiday makers looking for both ski and culture, Serre Chavalier is ideal. Each village has it's personality and all are linked by the free bus service. Be prepared to use your French here in the rural style bars and restaurants - you won't find cosmopolitan restaurants but genuinely good local food. The accent is on having a fun, sociable evening rather than partying hard. If culture is your thing, check out the old 17th century walled city of Briancon which is also Europe's highest town.

Serre Chevalier -

Throughout the area there are plenty of activities such as the thermal baths or skating. If you are feeling adventurous try hang gliding or paragliding - otherwise if the snow and weather report isn't great for skiing why not go for a snow shoe trip or hit the climbing wall.

Serre Chevalier -

It is possible to learn to ski and snowboard whilst on holiday in Serre Chevalier as there is a ski school in each area which provides lessons for children aged 5 years and up. For children from 6 months tryLes Schtrompfs (033 492 247 095) in Villeneuve. Additional childcare facilities are also available in the other villages.
