Chamonix - Ski Resort GuideWebcam | Piste Map | Snow Report & Weather Forecast | Ski Accommodation There are several ski stations in the Chamonix region which is well renowned as one of the key ski resorts in France. Getting around the area is not always easy and a car is useful here to make the most of the mountains, which are home to some of the world's best off-piste skiing. It is not a place for the faint hearted! As you'd expect, for a resort dominated by the mighty Mont Blanc, the scenery is impressive and the skiing and boarding is extreme! Chamonix - townA beautiful bustling town with a traditional French feel, complemented by a cosmopolitan style and a wide range of activities. The Aiguilles du Midi dominates the town, and the only skiing up here is one of the best known itinerary runs, the Vallee Blanche. Even intermediates should be able to tackle the run, although everyone should take a guide. The linked Brevant and Flegere areas can be accessed directly and both have a good mixture of pistes, with plenty of more challenging off-piste. Be prepared, the night life in Chamonix can be as gruelling as the legendary steeps!
