Home to the 1968 Olympic Men and Women's downhills, Chamrousse is a resort that is just waiting to pop back into the limelight. A firm favourite with all the locals from Grenoble, just 30 minutes away, this is a resort with an illustrious history and a bright future. Just the right size so you do not get lost, but big enough to keep the most demanding intermediate happy for the week, the resort offers a range of activities and events throughout the season to make this a great overall holiday experience.
Chamrousse - Ski
Chamrousse sizes itself up as a friendly family resort, but from the top of the Croix de Chamrousse you have a choice of 3 black runs to test your stamina, the Olympique H and Casserousse gives you a great challenge and takes you past the new Snowpark. For less accomplished skiers, or more sensible ones, there is a great network of greens and blues which bring you down to Roche Beranger and Le Recoin. The resort is big on excitement and has 3 snowparks, 1 natural between the Olympique H and Olympique D, one dedicated to kids at the top of the Croix de Chamrousse and another under the Marmottes Chairlift.
Chamrousse - Town
On 2 towns really, Roche Beranger is more suitable for families and Le Recoin for those wanting a slightly livelier time. Both have a good array of bars and restaurants, but this isn't Val d'Isere so real party animals will need to get their fix with a night trip to Grenoble, otherwise there is achoice of over 20 establishments in which to eat and drink and be merry at a lot less than you will pay in Val d'Isere.
APRES SKI Revolves around a fine selection of typically French bars and restaurants aswell as a variety of happening places like Gringo's or L'Embuscade
