Neukirchen is an especially fantastic resort for beginner and intermediate skiers but there is also plenty of opportunity for those with advanced abilities to get out and explore the neighbouring resorts.
Neukirchen - Ski
Neukirchen caters for skiers on all levels. There are gentle beginners slopes and a variety of blue slopes for you to perfect your new skills. For intermediqtes, the red runs provide a challenge and at the end of the day you can ski back to the village.
For the advanced skiers, Neukirchen provides a great starting point to explore the area. You can hire a guide and go off-piste ski touring to really make the most of the tremendous landscape! Neukirchen also has an alliance with other close by ski resorts and with an upgraded Ski Pass there are a further seven black pistes waiting for you!
Snowboarders who prefer a half-pipe or a park would probably benefit from staying elsewhere (or staying in Neukirchen and taking the bus to Gerlos where there are better facilities), however Neukirchen is exceptional for those who love to freeride.
Neukirchen is a brilliant resort for all the family. For young children there is a snow nursery - there to teach them all they need to know about skiing and for children under two there is plenty of child care available.
Neukirchen - Village
Neukirchen is a pretty village which is part of the Wildkogel ski area. This area has an excellent snow record and wonderful, open runs. Neukirchen is surrounded by the Hohe Tauern National Park which produces the most breathtaking scenery!
Although Neukirchen doesn’t boast much of a nightlife, there are several lively Après Ski bars and coffee houses.
Neukirchen - Activities
If skiing isn’t on the agenda then there is plenty more to do to keep you occupied! A 14km/9mile toboggan run perhaps? You could try snowmobiling, snow biking, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, ice skating and curling, and there are 55 kilometres of cross-country trails in Neukirchen and Bramberg, some of them floodlit for night skiing. Guided winter hikes are organised and there are excursions to the highest waterfalls in the Alps nearby!
