Pra Loup is situated in the Vallée de l’Ubaye and is considered to be one of the best ski resorts in the Southern Alps. Pra Loup is a popular ski holiday destination amongst French families and can get very busy throughout the season.
Pra Loup - Ski
Pra Loup attracts with sunny pistes (see piste map). Thanks to good snow conditions (see snow report) through snow cannons you can start skiing right at the beginning of the season. Pra Loup offers 180 km of runs, 80 slopes for all levels and 50 ski lifts that take you up to the pistes. You also find some good off-piste skiing for the experienced.
Pra Loup - Resort
Pra Loup was only founded in 1961 and has the typical charm of a Southern Alp ski resort. The two resort levels are linked through a free shuttle service. Pra Loup 1600 is set on a mountain plateau nestled amongst a forest of larch trees and is more lively than Pra Loup 1500.
In Pra Loup you find all services you may need such as newsagents, bakeries, grocery shops, shops, doctors, pharmacies and a post office.
Pra Loup - Activities
For those you do not ski Pra Loup offers a great choice of alternative activities such as paragliding, parachuting, snowmobile, guided walks, tennis, ice-skating and a bridge club. There is also an altitude restaurant which is accessible for non-skiers to enjoy a meal with fantastic views from the top.
After a day on your ski you can enjoy yourself in one of the bars, pubs, restaurants, games rooms, nightclubs or go to the cinema.
Pra Loup - Children
In Pra Loup 1600 children under 6 years can benefit from a free lift pass.
At Pra Loup 1500 and Pra Loup 1600 you can find a “Jardin de neige”, a specially equipped ski school for the 3- to 5-year old children.
A day nursery welcomes children aged between 6 months and 6 years at Pra Loup 1600.
