Risoul is a fairly quiet resort, linked to Vars, situated in the Southern Alps. The pistes are usually fairly quiet so there are rarely queues for the lifts.
Risoul - Ski
This resort is part of the Foret Blanche ski area which is a gateway to 108 pistes. Many of the pistes are above 2000 metres so skiing and snowboarding are assured throughout the season.
For beginners there are some long, green slopes ideal for those feeling a little shaky to begin with before progressing to the blue pistes.
Intermediate skiers will love the Foret Blanche which has both open skiing and tree-skiing on offer.
Experts have less choice of pistes and eight of the ten black piste on offer, it is necessary to head towards Vars. However to compensate there is some brilliant off-piste powder closer to Risoul.
Risoul - Apres Ski and Other Activites
There is plenty of Apres Ski in Risoul with bars, restaurants and shops which remain lively all day. Risoul also boasts a cinema and ice skating rink. There are two nightclubs and snowshoeing is also organized in the evenings.
