Söll is a small, lively village with a large, easy ski and snowboard area. The resort is part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Area which is the largest linked ski domain in Austria.
Söll - Ski
Recently huge investments have been made in snowmaking facilites to compensate for the low altitude and sunny disposition. Now there are snow cannons over the whole 250km of pistes. The resort is popular which can result in the slopes being quite busy - especially in high season.
Lift passes in Söll can be bought for the Ski Welt area or otherwise the entire Kitbühuler - Alpen area and over 704km of pistes. A car is recommended for this as the 5 domains included are not linked by chairlifts.
Söll - Town
Söll is a small pretty town with a lively nightlife - although it has calmed down a lot in comparison to previous years. For those on a low budget there are plenty of cheap hotels to choose from. One downside is the distance from the town to the ski lifts... there are buses which run however they aren't as frequent as they could be.
Activities
There isn't much in Söll for shopaholics however there are plenty of other outdoor activities including a natural ice rink! Also on offer are sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoe walks and 30km of marked winter hiking trails.
If the weather isn't great then there is a swimming pool ‘The Panoramabad’, especially for familys alongside squash courts, a bowling alley and of course different kinds of health and beauty centres offering saunas and massage services.
