The St Jean d'Arves ski domain is part of the Les Sybelles area and links in to 310km of pistes. Although the ski area is now one of France's five largest, St Jean d'Arves is a quaint traditional village and very small and friendly. It is located in the L'Arvan valley near the slightly larger main resort of Saint Sorlin d'Arves its only a 5 minute navette journey between the two villages.
St Jean d'Arves - Ski
The skiing in Les Sybelles is great for intermediate skiiers and families and ideal for building confidence. Explore the wide bowls of La Toussiure and the reds of Le Corbier. For more challenging runs head to the north facing runs above St Sorlin. Get a feel for the mountains with the piste map. The off pistes is extensive and is relatively untracked.

It doesn't take long to know St Jean inside out - there are only a couple of bars and restaurants, the obligatory ski shop and a supermarket.
St Sorlin d'Arves will take a little longer to explore. This is a delightful area with a true French atmosphere!
St Jean d'Arves - Activities
Aside from the skiing there are snow shoe trips, dog-sledding and cross country skiing.If the snow & weather report is bad visit the fromagerie or donkey farm.

In St Sorlin The Petits Diables creche accepts children from 3 months. In St Jean d'Arves itself there is the Jardin des Neiges for children from 4 years. Ski school lessons can be booked for 5 years and up.
