Ski holidays in Westendorf offer you the chance to ski in the largest interconnected ski area in Austria, the Ski Welt whilst staying in a small, pretty town. Whilst staying in Westendorf, you can also try night skiing, or toboggan down a 7.5km toboggan run.
Westendorf- Ski
Westendorf is located in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. The resort is also linked to the Kitzbühel ski area by the Ki-West gondola, meaning that there is access to a very large ski area, with pistes of all levels. The pistes around Westendorf itself are blue and red pistes. We offer you the great Kitzbühel Alps lift pass" , which enables you to ski in both the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental and Kitzbühel ski areas on 250 kilometres of slopes. The large number of snow cannons mean that 70% of the pistes in the Kitzbühel Alps are guaranteed snow.
Westendorf- Resort
The town is small and pretty, and has a number of lively bars, which are good for après ski, as well as 2 nightclubs. With a good number of restaurants, there are also plenty places to eat out.
Activities
The Westendorf ski resort has an easy floodlit piste which is open on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm, and is free of charge, for those who wish to continue skiing after it has got dark. At the annual ‘Jump & Freeze’ event people ski or slide down the piste in costume, into an ice cold pool, situated at the end of the piste. This season it will take place on the 13th of February. It is also possible to go tobogganing in Westendorf, the run is 7.5kilometres long, starting at the top of the Alpenrosenbahn ski lift, and ending at the Schrandlhof, from where a free bus can be taken back to the village. There are guided toboggan trips each Tuesday. Those who are feeling a bit more adventurous, should try tandem paragliding with an instructor from the paragliding school.
Children
Each Wednesday at 3:30 there is a ski show for children in the centre of Westendorf. There are 4 ski schools located in Westendorf so children can also take ski lessons.
