- Assistance in case of illness, injury or death during your stay in the mountains
Transport/Repatriation
If after hospital care, the Assur’ Neige holder is not in a state to travel under normal conditions, their transport/repatriation shall be performed under medical supervision if necessary by the most appropriate means.
Nature of medical costs that will be reimbursed
Reimbursement covers the following costs, provided that treatment abroad takes place due to illness or injury in the respective country:
- medical fees,
- prescriptions by a doctor or a surgeon,
- ambulance or a taxi called by a doctor (for a small distance abroad),
- hospital costs when the transport of the insured cannot be performed for medical reasons,
- dental costs (up to a maximum amount of € 160).
Transport in case of death
If the insured passes away during their stay in the mountains the transport of the deceased will be organised to the place of burial in their home country.
Return of an insured companion
If you are repatriated in agreement with our Medical Service, we will organise the transport of an insured person to accompany you on your return journey. The costs of a 1st class train journey or an economy class flight are covered.
Hospital Stays
If you are in hospital due to your illness or accident and its is agreed your return cannot take place in under 4 days we will organise for a person of your choice from your home country to come to sit by your bedside. The costs of a 1st class train journey or an economy class flight are covered.
Early return
If during your stay in the mountains you learn about the unforeseen hospitalisation of a family member back in your home country we will organise:
- either your return journey,
- or a single journey for both you and another insured person of your choice that is staying in the mountains with you.
The costs of a 1st class train journey or an economy class flight are covered.
Replacement driver
If you are ill or injured during your stay in the mountains and your state of health does not allow you to drive your vehicle home and none of the passengers can replace you, we will organise a driver to return your car to your place of residence. We do not take in charge the costs for fuel, tolls, hotel stays or restaurant visits of potential passengers.
Rescue costs
In case of an accident of the insurance holder whilst skiing, we cover the costs of rescue from the place of accident to the nearest medical centre within the following limits:
- in case of an accident on a designated run, there is no maximum amount for the reimbursement of rescue costs,
- in case of an accident off-piste outside of a designated run, the costs for rescue and search will be reimbursed up to a maximum amount of € 15,250.

2. Insurance Guarantee
Reimbursement of Medical Expenses
We will reimburse medical, chirurgical, dental, pharmaceutical and hospital costs after an accident in France. We do not reimburse expenses for prostheses et braces. Medical expenses will be reimbursed up to an amount of € 3,500.
Refunding of Ski Passes
If an illness or an accident forbids the insured person to practise winter sports unused ski passes will be reimbursed up to € 183 and ski lessons up to € 305. This only applies to ski passes bought for a duration of more than three days.
Ski breakage
If the insurance holder breaks their own skis and needs an equivalent replacement the costs of ski hire will be refunded up to a maximum of 7 days.
Interruption of the stay
In addition to your medical repatriation organised by EUROP ASSISTANCE, we will reimburse you the costs for accommodation for the time after your accident if you have already paid for the full length of your stay. We will reimburse € 46 per person per day (up to a maximum amount of € 229 per person).
3rd Party Damages
Insurance will cover you for third party damages up to the following amounts :
- € 45,735 for material damages
- € 4,573,471 for corporal damages

3. Exclusions
Common exclusions for all risks:
- costs that cannot be proven with original documents,
- accidents that occur outside the valid contract,
- hydrotherapeutic cures,
- glasses and lenses,
- excess luggage when travelling on a plane
- cancellation fees,
- health checks and vaccinations,
- motor sports, aviation, bobsleigh, ice hockey, mountain climbing, skeleton as well as all sports practised during a competition. Tests passed as part of ski school lessons, however, do not fall into this group,
- consequences of intentional acts, suicide attempts,
- pre-existing illnesses.
Special exclusions concerning insurance claims:
- accidents caused by blindness, paralysis, mental illnesses, as well as all illnesses or impairments known by the day of subscription,
- accidents as a result of practising the following sports: rock-climbing, mountain climbing, tobogganing, skeleton, bobsleigh, diving, skydiving and all kinds of aviation.

4. What to do in an emergency case
In case of illness or an accident please contact EUROP ASSISTANCE immediately. It is vital to:
- call EUROP ASSISTANCE immediately. Dial 0141 858 585 from France or +33 141 858 585 from abroad,
- obtain permission from EUROP ASSISTANCE prior to taking action or spending any money,
- conform with solutions that EUROP ASSISTANCE recommend,
- submit all necessary documents to EUROP Assistance (certificate proving your marital status, original document confirming your expenses, death certificate, …) supporting your insurance claim.
to allow EUROP ASSISTANCE to intervene as soon as possible.
In case of false declaration, EUROP ASSISTANCE reserve the right to be relieved from all obligations relative to current contracts, and if necessary, to refuse reimbursement.
Please not that Assur’ Neige only applies in the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Germany, Italy, Mainland Spain, Metropolitan France, Principality of Monaco and Switzerland.
