![]() Security of EquipmentWhen you pay for your ski hire, the shop will make a note of the serial number of your skis, board and boots. It is a good idea for you also to make a note of this number, as it is extremely common for guests to get their equipment mixed up during the holiday! Better still put a sticker with your name on your equipment, this is especially advised for children. It can be very dangerous to use ski hire equipment that has not been adjusted for you. If you do not return exactly the ski equipment that has been rented to you the shop will have the right to charge you. Theft of ski equipment in resorts is also common and you should never leave it unattended. Skis or snowboards left outside a bar during apres ski are particularly vulnerable and you should invest in a lock to prevent theft. Take care outside restaurants near cable cars aswell. Never leave a pair of skis together, at the very least split your set with someone else using a different type and length and put them well apart. Your ski equipment should not be returned damaged either. If a ski or snowboard is irreparable you will be charged for a replacement. If you do damage your equipment take it back to the ski hire shop as soon as possible, as a quick repair may prevent more serious damage. If you have holiday insurance then it may cover ski rental equipment, however not all policies do so it is worth checking the small print of your policy. Most shops offer an extra insurance to cover rental equipment. Returning your ski hireAt the end of your stay please take your rental equipment back to the shop and ensure that it is marked as returned by the staff or they may charge you for extra days that you have not used. You should not leave your ski equipment in your accommodation. Some shops will collect ski equipment - in this case make sure they sign off that the ski hire has been returned. |
